A little CAS and a little CASE

Today's little number combines two challenges, CAS-ual Fridays and CASE Study
CFC #13 required the card to be 4"x9".
And here's this week CASE Study Challenge #50 inspiration, another card by Dawn Wolslagle...
I think I was feeling a little zen mojo this morning, because I was in a minimalist card making mood - must have been the early morning light, and pure silence (which is hard to come by with two young kids).
And here's another card - obviously, this was made later in the day, when I was in full gear, with my usual chaos swirling around me.
I LOVE this stamp from The Greeting Farm.  I've had this for quite some time, but hadn't had the chance to really play with it until my recent purchase of Copic marker...finally, I can play with my "Cheeky" stamps....yippee!

Live well,
Trina

Friends

I'm so lucky to have fabulous friends in my life - and it's nice to have a hobby that allows us to let our friends know how much we appreciate them.  Here's a card I'm going to send to one of my childhood friends.
I love that quote - it's so true!  And here's my inspiration, this week's Moxie Fab's Trigger Tuesday:
The colors are soft and feminine, so I tried to do the same for my card, and make is a little more "girly", than I normally would do.

Live well,
Trina

Another last minute submission...

Why do I do this to myself?!...again, I decide at the very last minute to submit a card...seriously...decided to do this one, with only 45 minutes to make the card, edit the photo, and post it on here, and then link it...whew!!!!

This is for Moxie Fab World - The Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge.
Moxie Fab World

I was trying to go for a change from B&W to color...ya know, like "The Wizard of Oz" - it starts off in B&W, then becomes color when Dorothy steps into Munchkinland.  Okay....wish me luck in getting this in on time.

Live well,
Trina

Case Study Challenge #47

Trying out a new challenge...down to only minutes to submit, so I'll keep this short and sweet.

CASE Study

Here's my inspiration...

And here's my card...
I tried to raise the sentiment away from the flowers, so that it would be a little more translucent.

Polkadot Door Designs

Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend.  Last week, Rebecca from Polkadot Door Designs was kind enough to invite me to their website to join in on some fun (Thanks Rebecca!).  Check out this challenge...

As soon as I saw this, I knew I wanted to use Papertrey Ink's new stamp set, "Day Dreamer".  I heat embossed the sentiment, and rubbed PTI's Chamomile and Chai inks over the flowers and edges to try to give it a more vintage look.
That's it for today - it's time to enjoy the beautiful sunny day, turn up the tunes, and have a dance party with my little girl (while the boys are out and about).

Live well,
Trina

CFC #10 - Shaped Cards Challenge

When I saw this week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge, I wasn't quite sure what to do - I've never done one of these before.  That's why I like challenges....it allows me to explore outside of my norm, and try something new.  And ya know what??  It was REALLY easy.  In fact, I think that this was one of the most easiest, and fastest cards I've made -  I didn't even ink up one single stamp for this.

I love how this little "couture" number turned out...I think this would be great for a bridal shower, or as bridesmaids cards.

Live well,
Trina

I need a vacation from my vacation :-)

Have you ever found yourself more tired, than rested from your vacation?  Funny how that works, huh?!  Spent a very busy week away from home, on a road trip, to the Bay Area...yes, a road trip with a 3 and 10 year old, who wanted to know, every 15 minutes, if we were "there" yet.  Here are a few pictures from our little get-away, as well as a picture of my little peanut, who was the flower girl, at our friend's wedding this past weekend.

And now for a few challenges.  The first is Embellish's Color Trend Rainbow Challenge.
