Today I'm going to share two cards I made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. This week's challenge is "Anything Goes"...so I decided to go with a Fall theme.
For the first card, I used an impression plate for the background, and then blended some Distress Oxide inks onto a die cut circle (partially altered) to create the sunrise. Where did the time go?!
Today's card is for "CAS(E) this Sketch #245".
I created the background by blending a few Distress Oxide inks, used die cuts for the circles, and really, really cute stamps (and coordinating dies) from Neat & Tangled's limited edition STAMPtember's "Hello Pumpkin" set from Simon Says Stamp!. I have one last homework assignment to share from Online Card Classes - Merry Making. This one is for Day 3, which was focused on using non-holiday stamps on holiday cards.
I made the wreath by using gold ink and stamping leaves in a circular shape. I had a hard time finding a red ink that was vibrant enough for the black cardstock, so I made my own glossy rose Trina Georgihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11614766861329955493noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6326812754706937393.post-9955540483661494982017-10-17T21:04:00.000-07:002017-10-17T21:04:59.741-07:00Snowmen Season's GreetingsHi! Today I'm sharing my homework from Day 5 of Online Card Classes - Merry Making. Day 5 was focused on Holiday Watercolor, and after several failed attempts (the vision in my head just didn't translate well on paper 😕), I ended up using Distress Oxide inks to watercolor with and practiced my masking skills with post-its...oh well, I'll keep working on the other technique - at leastTrina Georgihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11614766861329955493noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6326812754706937393.post-43708544722886331892017-10-15T18:08:00.000-07:002017-10-15T18:08:17.520-07:00Hugs and SnugglesHello! Today I'm sharing a modified technique of Shari Carroll's Paint Resist technique shared on Day 2 of Online Card Classes - Merry Making. I didn't have any paint on hand, so I improvised by selectively white embossing white cardstock, then smearing the paper first over water down Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink, and then lightly over Twisted Citron. I've used Distress Trina Georgihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11614766861329955493noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6326812754706937393.post-11038277689421707452017-10-13T22:44:00.001-07:002017-10-13T22:44:55.915-07:00Peace-Love-JoyI'm back sharing another card, utilizing a die cutting technique from Day 4 of Online Card Classes - Merry Making. I decided to keep it simple and use lighter colors for this holiday card. The "LOVE" was raised by die cutting it out several times, then layering the letters. Tip...don't forget to stamp the sentiment before die-cutting...I forgot, hence the little smudge. 😏

Yesterday was Day 1, which focused on backgrounds. I loved all the techniques, but decided to try the one shared by Kristina Werner first, which creates a bokeh effect. I finished the card off by adding some Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents, and although it's hard to tell, I embossed the sentimentTrina Georgihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11614766861329955493noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6326812754706937393.post-40654720847775087312017-10-07T09:58:00.001-07:002017-10-07T09:58:40.461-07:00Happy World Card Making Day 2017!Hip Hip Hooray - Happy World Card Making Day!
In honor of today, I will be sharing two cards. For the first card I created the background using several colors of Distress Oxide inks, and then created a framed-in border to highlight some of the cutest stamps ever from Mama Elephant.

I can't believe it's been almost 5 years since I last updated this blog.
What's ironic is that I read my very first post from 2010, and I wrote that I got into card making, because I wanted to find a project that my son and I can do together, that would teach him how to show kindness to others. Fast forward 7 years, and the exact same reason that pulled me in years ago, has done it again, Trina Georgihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11614766861329955493noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6326812754706937393.post-45807868133586126302012-11-19T09:55:00.001-08:002012-11-19T09:59:01.517-08:00CTS#6
Here's this week's CTS challenge, and my card...
I decided to keep it very clean looking by using all white, with the exception of the grey text background and sentiment. The focal point is vellum, with a white heat embossed image, which has been framed and raised, so that you can ever so slightly see the text boarder peeking underneath.

Hello there!! Today's card combines two challenges; CTS#5 and CFC78. I must admit, I was totally stuck on this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge - for some reason, I just didn't feel the creative juices flowing for something "torn" (in fact I scrapped my first attempt). Here's what I finally came up with...
Stamp: Papertrey Ink (Snowflake Serenade)
I heat embossed Trina Georgihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11614766861329955493noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6326812754706937393.post-76814971869571689852012-11-06T21:46:00.000-08:002012-11-06T21:48:46.915-08:00RIC#23Sharing two cards with you today - here's my first card, which is for this week's Runway Inspired Challenge...
I'm so in love with the shoes - but who could see them, with that oversized purse...watch out when you put your purse down, it may roll away...hehehe.
Stamps: Paper Smooches (Swanky Snowdudes, My Peeps)
The next card is for Day 7 of Holiday Card Workshop. ITrina Georgihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11614766861329955493noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6326812754706937393.post-85344292867726859112012-11-04T13:47:00.000-08:002012-11-04T13:47:23.167-08:00CFC77
As promised, back for one more post today - this one also incorporates what was discussed in today's Holiday Card Workshop, with this week's CAS-UAL Fridays Challenge, which is to create a clean and simple masculine project.
For this challenge, my card may not be the typical masculine card, but still, I thought as a holiday card, it could easily be given to a male coworker, or maybe our mail Trina Georgihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11614766861329955493noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6326812754706937393.post-52282914597399212702012-11-04T13:25:00.000-08:002012-11-04T13:25:00.152-08:00CAS(E) this Sketch! Challenge #4Hi - will be doing a couple short posts today, the first for CAS(E) this Sketch! Challenge #4.
Aren't these snow dudes cute?! I love this set from Paper Smooches - I made another card with one of them having a mustache (too cue!)...will try to share that one later. Was trying to use nontraditional colors for this holiday card...which was the topic of discussion in yesterday'sTrina Georgihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11614766861329955493noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6326812754706937393.post-12903712577962653102012-10-29T20:12:00.000-07:002012-10-29T20:12:51.638-07:00Holiday Card Workshop - Day 1Hey friends - popping in really quick to share two cute little 3"x3" cards, inspired by Day 1 of Online Card Classes Holiday Card Workshop.
Learned so much from the last workshop, that I decided to take another class...
These were fun and quick, and because they are only 3"x3", got to use up some scraps (which has taken over my desk).
Live well,
Trina

Not this year...I made a vow to myself that I would try to get as much Christmas stuff done by the end of November (this includes the shopping as well), so that I can actually enjoy what's happening around me...wish me luck :-)

The first card is for CAS-ual Fridays, with this week's challenge having to do with using our own blog as our inspiration.
A little color blocking, heat embossing, and viola, we got ourselves a nice, clean, elegant card - can't get easier than that.
The next card is for Retro Sketches. I picked this color combo, because it's outside my comfort zone. The background was made using PTI's Botanical Silhouettes - don't usually go bright and bold, but I think it works for this card.
Here's the sketch...

It's called "Kick Start" - it's great source to learn how to "kick start" your creativity (click on the link below for more info).
For this card, I wanted to use some scraps (which I'm learning how to bundle together for future Trina Georgihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11614766861329955493noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6326812754706937393.post-1984111446575742102012-09-16T18:51:00.000-07:002012-09-20T22:04:50.630-07:00CFC70Got a BIG shipment from PTI, and another on the way....it feels real good to get back into the swing of things. Today's card is for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenged (CFC70), which was to use black and white, plus one color of our choice.
