Thank You Hero

Quick and simple post today.  The neat thing about having a blog, is being able to let a wider range of people know how you feel.  Today, I want to say a special "Thank You" to those who have served, and is currently serving to protect our beautiful country.  I will be sending the following card to a soldier to let them know how much we appreciate all they are doing for us.

I will leave you with a quote from Abraham Lincoln:
"I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him."

Live well,
Trina

Mojo Monday 140

Hello Friends - woohoo, we're almost there...a few more days, and then it's a 3-day weekend!  I don't know about you, but I'm counting down the minutes - it's like the unofficial kick-off to summer....when the sun seems to shine a bit brighter and all the fruit taste sweeter.  Okay, enough day dreaming, and on to today's cards.

Here's my interpretation of this week's Mojo Monday sketch (I also gave myself an extra challenge by using my scraps).

Here's another card, using Papertrey's "Fly Away" stamps.  This is the stamp set designed by Becky Oehlers.  I'm loving her designs, and can't wait until her next release (Becky....pretty please make it soon!).

OOOH...I'm being beckoned by my hubby....it's PIZZA time!

Live well,
Trina

Baby on Board

As promised, here are the two cards I said I would share with you today.  I made the first card for one of my closest friends.  I've known her since we were little girls, and think of her as my "little sister".  It's so nice to be around people you've known almost all your life - being around them is like going home, no matter where you happen to be.  If you haven't had the chance, get Papertrey Ink's "Enjoy the Ride" stamp set - it's so much fun to play with.
And here's the second card.  I LOVE this origami dress.  When I first saw the instructions for this, I knew exactly which stamp I was going to have along side of it.

Remember when I mentioned the beautiful Southern California weather yesterday?  Well, guess what - not so today.  We're having crazy weather - it's overcast, windy, and it rained this morning.  Yesterday it was in the mid 70's, and today it will be in the low to mid 60's - so much for sunny CA.

Stay well,
Trina

Mojo Monday 139

It's been so long since I've been able to do a Mojo Monday card...I was starting to get withdraws.  Today I feel lucky, not only was I able to do a Mojo Monday sketch, but I also tried one from Splitcoast...yippee!  It must be the beautiful weather we're having in Southern California - feeling the warm sun on your skin is so energizing.

Here's my card for MOJO139 - I really love this week's sketch.  It's going to be one I turn to often.

Here's my card for SC281 - my little 4th grader has done so well in school this year, I wanted to make him a special card to let him know how proud I was of all his hard this year.

I have more cards to share, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow, when the recipients have gotten them (they're sooooo cute...I can't wait to share them with you all).

Live well,
Trina

Seize the Cake

Just a quick little post today.  Here's a fun card I made for my nephew's birthday.  You can never go one with Memory Box's penguin stamps - they're so darn cute!

The pocket holds a birthday sentiment filled with lots of love for my cutie pie nephew.  I think that this style would be perfect for slipping a gift card into as well.

Okey dokey, time for bed.  It's sure nice to know that the weekend is just around the corner.

Live well,
Trina

Happy Mother's Day!

A very Happy Mother's Day to everyone, and a very Happy Birthday to my beautiful mother, who I one day hope to be, just a fraction of the amazing woman she is ( I love you mom!)

In honor of Mother's Day, here's a little poem that was sent to me by a friend:

A mother’s love is something that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away…
It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking.
And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking…
It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems…
It is far beyond defining.  It defies all explanation, and it still remains a secret
Like the mysteries of Creation… a many splendor ed miracle
Man cannot understand and another wondrous evidence of God’s tender guiding hand.

And now for the cards...
Here's the Mother's day card I made for my mother with one of my favorite stamps.  Take a close look at the dress...do you see it?  This stamp is call "Pasta with Peas"...isn't too cute!

Here's the same stamp, but using a slightly different layout, that I made form my mother-in-law.

Here's my mother's birthday card.  Lately, I've been into PTI's Text Style - I love stamping it in London Fog (my other fav right now), and using it for backgrounds.

And, yet another card for my mother-in-law's birthday...yes, this time of the year is busy...two moms' birthdays and plus Mother's Day.

Okay - it's time to spend my Mother's Day with my kiddies, and my mom.

Live well,
Trina

Card Recipes to be added shortly (time to give my mom her presents).

Celebrate - It's a Boy!

Would you believe it - sick again.  This year doesn't seem to be my healthiest so far...I'm getting sick more often than my two year old.  Just when I was getting better, my kids were feeling yucky.  Keep your fingers crossed - we're all healthy right now and hopefully can enjoy Southern California's warm weather this week.

A friend of ours recently had a beautiful baby boy (lots of babies coming this year = lots of baby cards!).   I know I've been using Becky's stamps a lot lately, but it's just too cute.  Never fear - more stamps are near ...just placed an order with PTI...yippee!

Here's baby Jayden's card...

Getting late, gotta go to bed...sweet dreams.

Live well,
Trina
